This film was directed by Steve Karman, produced by Bagdasarian Productions, premiered on ABC, NBC & CBS in 1990, and released on VHS by Buena Vista Home Video in 1992 as Rockin' with the Chipmunks and later was added on the DVD The First Alvin Show.
